Lodge Ocoee 212

Our Lodge was established in 1851 under dispensation from the Grand Lodge of Tennessee.

As with most Lodges History is lost and altered as time passes. Facts are blured and sometimes imbelished. Some lost to the pages of time when members pass away. Some of the information just can not be confirmed with that being said I will always do my best to report the facts as such and stories that can not be confirmed as just that.

I have heard of a tale during the Civil War of our Lodge, like most Lodges due to the strain on the Lodge membership the Lodge was not held. The charter was taken away to a Brothers home along with the record and other items of the Lodge where they were secured and later returned to the Lodge after the war was over. I am currenlty trying to verify this story. I know of other lodges that lost their original Charter as well as minutes and other items during the war. We still have our original charter framed and hanging on the wall. So there is some truth to it.

This page is devoted to my home lodge.
