A candidate must rember a lecture and recite it in front of a committee or an open Lodge.
A candidate can only advance after 28 days and he has turned his lecture in.
Every Lodge has dues. Most are very affordale and go to support charities and the Lodge.
Masonry is one of the oldest orgnizations with the 1st recorded document to date being the Regius Manuscript around 1390.
Masonry was orginally a labor union and some time during the 1600's in changed from Operative to Speculative Masonry
and a Fraternaity.
No one knows the exact date Masonry began, it is believed Masonry exsisted before the builing of the Temple by King Solomon.
Masonry is essentially a charitable orgnization. Most
of the funds received through fund raisers and dues and channel to Masonic Hopstial, Medical Research, Members in distress,
and other Charities.
The term "black ball" came from masonry and is still used for
voting today.
